The Down Yonder Farmhouse is now available to guests. Come experience the history, nature, and peace that the farm has to offer.

If I could give Down Yonder Farm 6 stars, I would do so in a heart beat. The whole property is serene and beautiful, and staying in the farm house feels like being on vacation while also staying with your favorite relatives at the same time. I will be coming back!

History tours

Available to guests of the Farmhouse

Learn the history of its people from prehistoric times until the close of the civil war. Local historian and storyteller, Beverly A. Scarlett, will take you back in time sharing the stories of Free People of Color and slaves who occupied the area, worked, protected and cared for the land. You will see and touch artifacts created by people who occupied the land before colonial settlement. You will learn the experiences of slaves as chronicled in court records and newspaper advertisements. This is an opportunity to learn about a community of people who were left out of the annals of history, from one of their descendants.

The cost is $100 for a group of up to 5 people. All proceeds support Indigenous Memories and are tax deductible. Additional donations are welcome.
