Renting Space at DYF

We’re on pause for 2024. We hope to see you next year to offer several retreat and arts spaces!

The Music Building, built in 1991 by Peter Kramer and friends, is your blank slate for group workshops, band practices, small concerts, recording sessions, and more.

The main room can be set up in a variety of ways, including open floor space for yoga, or comfortable seating for shows. Folding tables are available for workshops. The building has access to a privy for bathroom use.

The back room has a simple kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, hot plates, and dishes. There is a large round table that can seat 8-10, and a comfortable couch. The building does not have running water. Drinking water is provided on request.

The Writers Cabin, built in 1989 as a garden shed, has hosted area writers for decades. Writers John Claude Bemis, Nancy Peacock, Ana Gazmarian, and others have used the tiny retreat to complete their novels.

The 8x10’ cabin holds a twin bed, a large desk, an arm chair, and is furnished with artwork and lamp lighting. A small porch with a rocking chair overlooks the (currently dormant) garden. Bathroom use is a short walk around the Music Hall, where the kitchenette is also available for your use.

The Tiny Cabin was originally a two-story play house for Peter & Susan’s daughters! Later it was wired and insulated, and now serves as a cozy little getaway for farm guests. Downstairs is a sofa, table, and simple shelf storage; upstairs, via ladder, you’ll find the full-size bed and reading nook.

Enjoy sunsets from the wraparound porch. An attached shed with a composting toilet is coming Spring of 2023. The Tiny Cabin is close to the main house, where an outdoor shower is available on the back porch.

The Tiny Cabin is best for one guest.

All spaces include access to our wooded trails, the .75 acre pond for swimming or fishing, kitchenette in the Music Hall, an outdoor privy, outdoor shower with hot water, hot tub. Guests are also welcome to use our fire pits and several other outdoor spaces.

Before your visit you’ll be asked to sign a waiver on behalf of yourself and any other guests. Further rules and limitations may apply.
